With profound sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Christine A. Mayes, who left this world on July 29, 2025, at the age of 68, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. Christine was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose life was a testament to love, strength, and resilience. Her bright smile, infectious laughter, and boundless love touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her, leaving behind a legacy that will never be forgotten.
Christine was preceded in death by her dear mother, Betty Gephart, and her father, Sylvanus Marker, whose memories she carried in her heart throughout her life. She is survived by her loving family, including her oldest son, Ronnie Osirio, and her youngest daughter, Bryanna Clark, along with her son-in-law, Brandon Clark, and her cherished grandson, Sakai Sonnier, who was the light of her life in recent years. Christine spoke of her family with deep pride and affection, and they brought her immeasurable joy.
A woman of unwavering strength, deep compassion, and unshakable faith, Christine’s love for her children was immeasurable. She always reminded them that, no matter what life’s challenges brought, her love for them was unconditional. She had an incredible ability to make others feel seen, heard, and loved, no matter the circumstances. Her laughter could fill any room with light, and she had a rare gift of making people feel stronger and more supported through simple conversations.
Christine was also a woman of great faith and resilience. Throughout her life, she faced her struggles, including her battle with Parkinson’s, with remarkable perseverance. She firmly believed in the power of God's love, and it was this love that she freely shared with everyone around her—whether through a kind word, a gentle embrace, or a simple act of kindness.
Though Christine’s passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who loved her, her spirit will continue to inspire and guide all who were fortunate to know her. Her warmth, her strength, and her enduring legacy will forever remain in the hearts of her children, her family, and everyone whose life she touched.
Christine will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on, forever etched in the hearts of those she held close.
Butterfly Kisses Poem
Don't cry for me please don't be sad Hold on to the memories of the times we both had Don't dwell on dark thoughts
hold on tight to your wishes
Sending you hugs and butterfly kisses. I walk beside you I am there all day long
I am right here but you think I am gone
You don't see me but I can see you What ever the problems I will help get you through I am the wind in your hair
the sand in your toes Butterfly kisses that you feel on your nose I am with you at sunrise and in sunset
But you can't see me is my one regret.
I sit right beside you when you are sad As you look through the photos
of times we both had
I watch you sleeping I hold you so tight
Before I go I kiss you goodnight.
I will watch over you from heaven above
Forever you will be my one true love Hold on to your dreams and all your wishes
Sending you hugs and butterfly kisses.
