Diana Gonzalez

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Diana Gonzalez, who departed this life on July 16, 2026, at the age of 59.

Diana was born on December 22, 1966, and spent her early years in Stanfield, Arizona, before making her home in Casa Grande, Arizona. Throughout her life, Diana created a legacy built on love, family, laughter, determination, and an unforgettable spirit.

She was the beloved wife of Robert Sanchez Gonzalez and a devoted mother to her two daughters, Christina Montijo and Roxanne Montijo. Her greatest pride and joy came from being a grandmother to her seven grandchildren, whom she loved deeply and cherished every moment with.

Diana is survived by her husband, Robert Sanchez Gonzalez; her daughters, Christina Montijo and Roxanne Montijo; her seven grandchildren; her mother, Josie Pena; her brothers, Louis Pena Jr. and Salvador Montenegro; and her dear friends, Debbie Ochoa and Barbara Rodriguez. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will continue to love and honor her memory.

She was preceded in death by Luis Pena, Frank Montenegro, and Angela Pena.

Diana was a woman who knew how to live life fully. She loved visiting the casino, especially playing bingo, and she always enjoyed having a good time. She had a creative and curious spirit, spending hours crafting, sewing, building, fixing things, and taking things apart just to put them back together. She enjoyed working on cars and was always finding ways to stay busy, whether through Uber, DoorDash, or one of her many side hustles.

She loved dancing, listening to music, watching sports, gardening, cooking, and spending quality time with her family. She enjoyed Taco Tuesdays, singing with Jalaya, and had recently begun attending church, finding joy and comfort in her faith.

Diana had a personality of her own. She loved being a grandma, loved being the boss, and was never afraid to speak her mind. She enjoyed the simple things that made her happy—her Fireball, her cigarettes, a cold Coke, candy, popcorn, and the moments shared with the people she loved.

Diana’s laughter, strength, creativity, and big heart will forever be remembered by everyone who knew her. Her love will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will remain a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
