Donald Robert "Doc" Chapados passed away on November 16, 2025, at the age of 78. Don was born on September 12, 1947, in Niagara Falls, New York, to Francis and Stephania Chapados. He spent 24 years living in Grand Island, New York, and the last 19 years of his life in Maricopa, Arizona.
Don proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a member of the Military Police. Following his military service, he dedicated 28 years to law enforcement, serving with the New York State Parkway Police and then the New York State Police, Troop A until his retirement in 2001.
In August 1977, Don married his wife, Peg, in Niagara Falls, New York. He is survived by Peg, his brother Phil (JoAnn) of Green Bay, Wisconsin, his brother Francis of Grand Island, New York, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, fur babies, and former colleagues in the New York State Police.
Don had a passion for sports, often cheering for the Brooklyn/L.A. Dodgers, Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, and Arizona Diamondbacks. He was also a devoted "Daddy Kitty" to his many fur babies.
In accordance with Don's wishes, no services will be held. He will be interred at the V.A. National Cemetery at a later date.
