Throughout his life, Gabriel was deeply committed to his community and played an active role at St. Francis Church. He worked as a rancher and dedicated his time to the local elder's center. Gabriel had a passion for sports and enjoyed participating in various activities, including chair volleyball and bingo. He took great pleasure in his walks and contributed to the church by landscaping and nurturing the grounds. His professional journey included roles as a miner and a police officer, and he was known for his strong spiritual presence.
Gabriel is survived by his children: Imogene and Melanie Hendricks; his siblings, Manuel and Sonny Garcia and his cherished furry companions, who brought joy and comfort into his life. He was preceded in death by his parents.
An all-night wake will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at St. Francis Church in Ge’hakah Village. Gabriel will be laid to rest on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 5:00 a.m. in Ge’hakah Cemetery, Tohono O’odham Nation.
