With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Herminia Montez Hernandez, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who departed this life on May 13, 2025, at the age of 68, in Casa Grande, Arizona.
Born on December 4, 1956, in Willcox, Arizona, to Manuel T. Montez and Mary Toler, Herminia spent her life surrounded by love, family, and the warmth of a close-knit community. A proud and lifelong Arizonan, she made her home in Casa Grande, where she raised her children and built lasting relationships rooted in kindness and generosity.
A devoted and loving mother, Herminia is survived by her children, Kristie and Michael Hernandez. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Ricky Hernandez, her husband, Ricardo Hernandez, and her brother, Reynaldo Montez. Herminia cherished her role as a grandmother to ten and a great-grandmother to two, finding immense joy in every moment spent with her growing family.
She is also survived by her loving mother, Mary Toler, and her siblings: Angie Nava, Mary Ellen Murnane, Sylvia Montalvo, and John Montez. She was preceded in death by her father, Manuel T. Montez.
Herminia had a deep love for her family, and her home was always filled with laughter, delicious meals, and the comforting aroma of her cooking. Whether preparing a favorite dish or watching episodes of Bonanza, she brought warmth and light to every gathering. A true lover of classic westerns, Herminia embraced life with a spirit of resilience and heart.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, strength, and family will continue to inspire and comfort those she leaves behind.
Private services will be held in Casa Grande for family and close friends, where they will gather to honor a life well-lived and deeply loved.
