

James Bryant, fondly known as “Jim” left this world peacefully, surrounded by family in his home on the morning of August 25, 2025 in Casa Grande, Arizona at the age of 90. A cherished father, grandfather, brother and uncle, as well as a devoted friend and compassionate soul, Jim’s presence enriched the lives of all who knew him.
Born on January 21, 1935 in Logan County, West Virginia to Narrie and Byrd Bryant. At the age of 18, Jim moved to Detroit, Michigan to work for Ford Motor Company. In 1958, he married JoAnna “Joan” Briski in Detroit, Michigan - they lived in the neighborhood of Del Ray for the first few years of their marriage and then moved to Taylor, Michigan where they raised their daughters. After retiring from Ford Motor Company, he and Joan moved to Arizona in 1986. Shortly after arriving in Arizona, Jim went on to work 35 years for Arizona City Sanitation.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Joan, both of his parents, sisters Wanda and Minnie, his brother Willard and nephew Gary. He is survived by daughters Pamela (David) Britz and Cheryl (Forrest) Bennett, as well as five grandchildren, and eight great-grand children. Jim’s surviving siblings include Joyce Morris, Larry (Clara) Bryant, Clovis (Sue) Bryant, and Trish (Jim) Dalton as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Known for his gentle, fun-loving, jokester personality, Jim was fond of spending time with family and friends, and he was a true gentleman in every since of the word. He loved his little dog, Sami. He enjoyed playing chess, watching classic Westerns on TV, as well as going for Sunday drives. He read his bible and watched the news daily. He was a social and kind man who made everyone feel like a dear friend. Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew and cared for him.
