Ronald Eugene Pitts Jr.

Ronald Pitts Jr., affectionately known as "Ron-Ron," was born in Alton, Illinois, in 1972 to the late Paula Sims Pitts and Ronald Pitts Sr.

Ronald was raised in Evanston, Illinois, where he attended Evanston schools and graduated in 1990. He had a deep love for music, especially rap, which was truly his passion. Ronald lived life on his own terms, embracing a carefree spirit that led him to travel and live in various places throughout the years. Wherever he went, he made lasting friendships and created cherished memories with those whose lives he touched.

After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, Ronald Pitts Jr. passed away on August 4, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Paula Pitts Sims; his brother, Michael Webb; and his sister, Vernita Matthews Pitts.

Ronald leaves to cherish his memory his son, Jonathan Ester; his father, Ronald Pitts Sr. (Brenda); his brother, Mark Pitts (Relaine); his sisters, Candi Pitts and Ketra Bergeron; his aunt, Kitty Walters (Gary); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Ronald's free spirit, love of music, and the connections he made throughout his life will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. May his memory bring comfort and peace to those he leaves behind.
