Tony Strickland, 61, died on July 24, 2026. Born on May 29, 1965, in Parkdale, Arkansas, Tony lived a life centered on family, love, and the things that brought him joy.

Tony met the love of his life, Aretha, and together they built a marriage filled with adventure. They spent their early years traveling together until their son, Cory, reached kindergarten. Through every season of life, Tony's love and devotion to his wife never wavered.

Tony was a devoted husband and a proud father to his two sons, Cory Strickland and Anton Strickland. Tony loved watching anime with his loved ones, creating memories over the stories and characters they enjoyed together. He treasured the time he spent with his family and found his greatest happiness in being a husband, father, and grandfather.

A talented handyman, Tony was always willing to lend a hand and could fix just about anything. He enjoyed playing video games, watching horror movies, and collecting decorative plates, a hobby that reflected his appreciation for unique and beautiful things. He was happiest spending time with the people he loved, sharing laughs, stories, and the interests that made him who he was.

Tony is survived by his beloved wife, Aretha Strickland; his sons, Cory Strickland and Anton Strickland; his siblings, Ben Strickland Jr., Delia Strickland, and Angela Strickland; and his four cherished grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Mary Walker.

Tony will be returned home to Indianapolis, Indiana, where family and friends will gather to honor his life. Services will be held at Sprowl Funeral Home & Cremation Care.

Tony's love for his family, his generous spirit, and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
