Versie Sharp was born to Etta and Leonard Bohanon on August 29, 1936, in Yuma, Arizona. On Monday, August 17, 2026, Versie went home to be with the Lord and Savior, surrounded by family, friends, and many others who loved her dearly. She attended elementary and high school in Yuma, where she met Ulysses Sharp. They were married on September 8, 1954 in Florence, Arizona.
Versie worked for Hexcel for several years before becoming a full-time homemaker. She loved helping raise her grandchildren and caring for others whenever needed. In 1974, she gave her life to Jesus Christ during a revival at New Hope Baptist Church of Casa Grande, where she remained a longtime active member. In her later years, she became a member of First Assembly of God Church. Affectionately known as (Tiny), Versie was a friend to all who knew her. She leaves behind many loving memories that will remain forever in our hearts.
Versie is survived by her husband, Ulysses Sharp (Slim); her daughters, Wanda Sharp, Carolyn Sharp, Sheila Sharp Daniels (Freddie, and Yolanda Sharp Gray (Dwight); her sons, Ulyssa Sharp Jr. (Tammy), Leonard Sharp, Gregory Sharp, and Ronnell Sharp (LaShelle); three bonus sons, Wesley, Rodney, and Keith (deceased); and one bonus daughter, Shaneika.
Special thanks are extended to Rene Carter Williams, a dearly loved chosen daughter who remained faithfully by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, Etta and Leonard Bohanon; her brothers, Alonzo, Robert, Leandres, Virgil, Alton, Lenwood, and Larry Bohanon; her sisters, Louis Gamble and Leona Long; and her daughter, Sonja Sharp Kelley.
