

Edward Kitack Suh, 87, of Maitland, Florida passed away peacefully on April 5th, 2026. He was born on September 21, 1938 in South Korea to Jeong-hwan and Sam-deok. He was the third son of 8 children and served in the South Korean military for two years as a Private First Class. He was a long-time Central Florida resident for over four decades.
Edward earned degrees from Seoul National University, Boston College and his PhD from Brandeis University in 1978. He was a professor at the University of Maine, University of Northern Iowa, University of Toledo and University of Central Florida in the department of Social Work from 1985 to 2002. During his career he worked with and advised the governments of Nicaragua, Chile and Colombia on social policy and actively participated in community service in the Central Florida region.
His hobbies included gardening and playing tennis. Edward was predeceased by his wife Jennifer, and he is survived by his sons Bernard and Jonathan (Kimberli) and grandchildren Malcolm and Martin as well as siblings and many cousins. The family gives special thanks to his close friend Tami and her daughter Gloria for all their help. As per his wishes a small ceremony will be held with burial nearby in Casselberry.
