peacefully, surrounded by family on Friday, July 3, 2020.
She was born in San Lorenzo, Panama on September 15, 1944. She met her future
husband, Millard Hanson while he was stationed with the US Army in the
Panama Canal Zone. They married on November 22, 1971. Later, they
moved to Ord, Nebraska, where they farmed for thirteen years. During that
time, she was proud to become a citizen of the United States. Adela and
her family later moved to Omaha. While in Omaha, she continued to raise
her children and also worked as a childcare provider. Adela and her
husband retired in Castle Rock, Colorado three years ago. During
retirement, she enjoyed cooking, baking, spending time with her
grandchildren and traveling with her husband.
Adela will forever be remembered as being a great mother, grandmother, sister, friend, as well
as for her kindness and having a big heart.
Those left to cherish her memory include her spouse of 48 years, Millard; son Michael Hanson;
daughter Michelle Houston and her husband, Dana; grandchildren
Zachary, Kiera and Adrienne; nephew Oliver Gomez; brother Francisco
Blanco and his wife Orquidea; brother Juan Blanco; sister-in-law Julie Foth
and her husband Kelly; sister-in-law Lori Wadas and her husband Bill,
along with many relatives and friends.
Adela was preceded in death by her sister Rosa Vial, and her parents Ramona and Antonio.
Recitation of the Rosary followed by a Mass of Christian Burial will be presided by Father Timothy O’Connell, and will be held at Saint Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Castle Rock. Burial will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery at a later date.
