Aleen Berry Rupert

Aleen B. Rupert, formerly of Thornton, Colorado, passed away at her daughter's home in Castle Rock, Colorado on Friday, February 26, 2016 surrounded by her loving family who will miss her deeply. Born on October 1, 1923 in Gassaway, WV to Charles and Amie Berry, she graduated from Gassaway High School in 1941, then attended Marshall College. Aleen finished her education at Kanawha Valley Hospital as a medical technologist and for many years she worked as the lab tech for the 88th Ave. Medical Clinic in Thornton, Co.

She was a member of Eastern Star, loved playing bridge, was a voracious reader, but mostly she was the best mother, grandmother, and great grandmother one could ever have. Her contagious laughter was a joy to behold.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don and sister Louise Underwood of Alderson, WV. Her survivors include daughters, Susan(Fred), Nancy, and son Andy, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Olinger Highland Mortuary on Wednesday, March 2 from 4-7 pm. Funeral service will follow on Thursday, March3 at 10am at Highland Olinger Mortuary. Graveside services and burial will be in Gassaway, WV on March 7.
