Barbara Lynn Burr was born to Don and Olive (Mona) Pettit in Sterling CO on April 19, 1946. Barbara passed peacefully at her home on June 21, 2026, after a short battle with cancer. Barb graduated from Littleton High School in 1963 and went on to marry Joseph William Burr Jr. They purchased their dream home in 1974 in Sedalia, CO on Plum Creek. Barb lost her beloved Joe in July of 1978. She went on to raise their two handsome young boys Shane and Kevin, who have become remarkable men, and fathers. Barbs boys and their families were her pride and joy.
Barb exemplified unconditional love, strength, and selflessness, showing her boys every day what it means to be a devoted loving parent. Barb worked two and three jobs to provide for her family, while never missing a football game, wrestling match, or track meet. She was always their loudest cheerleader. Barb’s life was a testament of grit, generosity, and the quiet power of showing up for others. Barb had many passions in her life, from business owner, the love of racehorses, accountant, bookkeeper, gambling, and lastly cook and bar keep at the famous Bud’s Bar. Barb did not just pour drinks and serve hamburgers; she offered a place where people felt seen and heard. She listened to their stories, she gave advice that mattered, and she brightened the day of anyone who walked through those doors. Barbs work ethics and passion was her way of showing she cared and her presence shaped a community she loved. She lived fully, loved fiercely, and left a lasting mark on every life she touched.

She is survived by her eldest brother, Don Pettit Jr. and wife Vicky of Littleton, CO., her eldest son, Shane Burr (Tonya Hier), his daughter Desiree, her husband Justin and their three children, Elijah, Hayden, and Paisley.
