Barbara Koller Gilmore

Born in Harrison, New Jersey on January 18, 1924, Barbara was the youngest of six children born to Anna Smith and Leopold Koller. She had four sisters and one brother, who preceded her in death. She went to Kearny High School graduating in 1940.

Barbara married John Gilmore in September, 1949. They lived in East Orange, New Jersey. In March, 1951, her daughter Patricia was born. She separated from John in 1956 and divorced him in 1965.

Barbara held numerous jobs from many different companies throughout her career including working for Eskimo Pie. She was the Executive Secretary to the President of Graver Water Company for many years, retiring in 1989. After retiring, she moved to Redmond, Washington to be near her daughter, Patricia and granddaughter, Victoria. When they moved to Colorado in 1994, she followed to be near them.

After she came to Christ at her granddaughter's baby dedication, she taught Sunday school and became a Southern Baptist. She loved her granddaughter, Victoria who was the apple of her eye and gave her some of her happiest times.

She loved to bowl being involved in bowling leagues. She was an avid Bridge player. She was an accomplished knitter and crocheter, making scarves, cushions, hats and sweaters. She was President of the Mountain Pine Women's Club in Parker. She was an avid reader and loved to do Crossword Puzzles. She always dressed well and would often wear scarves.

As a single Mom, times were often tough. When she made more money she would move to a bigger, nicer apartment. When she made less money, she would move to a less expensive apartment. Pat remembers moving some ten times in 18 years. She wanted it said of her that she was a strong person and had done the best she could for her daughter, Patricia.

She had a lifelong friendship with Lea Monath for more than 64 years until Lea's death six years ago. They would often travel to be with each other.

Her favorite hymns were "It is Well with My Soul" and "How Great Thou Art."

She is survived and loved dearly by: Her daughter Patricia and husband Bob
