Betty Radvich leaves behind a legacy filled with cherished memories and love. She nurtured a love for her faith, family, and friends and was known for her warm smile, her kindness, and her gentle spirit.
Betty Jo was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 16th, 1943, to Eston and Mary Kathrine Harman (Sigwart). Her early years were spent in Morgantown, West Virginia, until the family moved to Norfolk, Virginia, where Betty spent her high school years. She was attending nursing school there when she met and married her former husband, Curtis O. Sealy in 1964. They lived in several states—including Arizona, Alabama, and Texas—before settling in Colorado.
Betty worked as a legal secretary for Denver law firms Davis, Graham & Stubbs and Sherman & Howard. She met and married her late husband Jerry Radvich in 1994 and moved to Castle Rock. They enjoyed many years traveling the U.S. and Canada and spending winters in Arizona in their RV before Jerry’s passing in 2007.
Betty always had a full social calendar and was active in the Castle Rock Senior Center, Red Hats, Front Range Chapter of the Breakfast Club, Connection Gals, and Journey Church. She enjoyed playing card games, attending the theatre and concerts, and traveling with her friends. Betty also was an avid reader and usually had a book or a People magazine with her. She always made family and friends feel special by preparing their favorite dishes for any occasion. Favorite family requests were her chili, deviled eggs, pumpkin pie, cheesecake, and snickerdoodles.
Betty is survived by her two children, Christina Marie Heath of Parker, Colorado and Curtis Paul Sealy of Guntersville, Alabama. She had five granddaughters: Kellie Heath, Rania Sealy, Kennedy Thomas (Devin), Mary Catherine Sealy, Georgeanne Sealy; and twin great-granddaughters Palmer and Emerson Thomas. She also is survived by three siblings, William Hayes, Sonya Lee Johnson, and Diana Polidoro.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson Benjamin ''Ben'' Heath and her husband Gerald ''Jerry'' Radvich. Betty deeply cherished her family. Betty was especially proud of her six grandchildren, as well as her home in Castle Rock.
Those close to Betty describe her as kind, compassionate, and adventurous. Her bright smile and warmth touched everyone she met. Betty’s positive and supportive nature will leave a lasting impression on the lives of many who knew her. The family would like to extend their gratitude to everyone for their support and care during this difficult time, and to thank everyone who has shared their condolences and honored Betty's legacy.
