

She was born on May 25, 1921, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Carl and Helen Zimmerman. She graduated from Enid High School in 1939.
She married Alvin "Ty" Hodge on July 15, 1940, and worked side by side with him in his construction business and various other businesses during their 60 years together, including a motel and restaurants in Enid, Lawton, Elk City and Altus, Oklahoma. In 1997 she moved with her husband to Castle Rock, Colorado, to be closer to their two children.
Betty enjoyed gardening and reading and was an excellent seamstress. She had a ceramics shop at one time, selling items she had made. Charity work was very important to her and she was very active in her church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ty, and her son, Tim.
She is survived by her daughter, Karren (David) Schroeder of Castle Rock, 4 grandchildren: Travis Hodge of Douglas, Wyoming, Kelli Wojtkewicz of Castle Rock, Colby Hodge of La Cajon, California, and Darren Schroeder of Castle Rock. She is also survived by a sister, Eloyce, of Okeema, Oklahoma, and a brother, Richard, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
