

Billie Dove Clyburn, age 91, Castle Rock, Colorado passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022. She was the youngest of three children born to Marion and Lillian Northcutt in Cord, Arkansas on July 26, 1930.
Billie spent her childhood helping on the family farm in Arkansas until they moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1944. She was united in marriage to J.C. Brumbelow on July 3, 1946. Their daughter, Shirley, was born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1948. J.C. Brumbelow passed away on August 24, 1958.
Billie married Donald Marvin Clyburn in Wichita, Kansas on May 14, 1960. Their daughter Tammy was born on July 4th, 1962. Billie & Don celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary before Don’s death on June 8, 2020. Billie worked at the Coleman Company in Wichita for 15 years before moving to Seattle for Don’s job with Boeing. They moved back to Wichita while Don was still with Boeing and eventually to Ecco Ranch in Yates Center, Kansas. Billie worked side-by-side with Don on the ranch where they lived for 21 years until they retired to Wichita in 1991. They moved to Castle Rock, Colorado in August 2019 to be close to Tammy’s family.
Billie was a member of the Methodist Church and an active member of the Eastern Star in Yates Center. She was a 4-H Leader and very involved in helping with the Woodson County Fair. Billie was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning and sharing their abundance of vegetables with neighbors, friends and family. She had a great sense of humor, loved telling jokes and was always smiling. Billie enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, crafts, playing cards and games, and most of all spending time with friends and family. She was a fierce competitor at the card game Skip-Bo!
Billie was proceeded in death by her parents and brothers Gilbert A. and Wilbert J. Northcutt. She is survived by her daughters: Shirley Schick and husband Ron, Tammy Yarnell and husband Tim; Four grandchildren: Shari Roberts and husband Philip, Staci Braun and husband Chris, Jason Yarnell, Zach Yarnell and wife Karli; Five great grandchildren: Kayla Sorrell and husband Justin, McKenna Roberts, Eli Braun, Kaiden Braun and Billie Braun; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Billie was an amazing mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family. She was a great friend to all who met her and she loved doing things for others. One of the greatest testaments to the role model she was is that her niece, Billie Davison, and great granddaughter, Billie Braun, are named after her.
