Born in Washington, D.C to his loving parents, Ivory and Cassandra Brown, Brian suddenly and unexpectedly transitioned from his earthly journey and his spirit now rests among the ancestors. At the time of his passing, Brian was a resident of Castle Rock, Colorado where he had been living for approximately fifteen years.
Brian had a strong and loving bond with his sons, Ryan and Jalen. Thus creating in them a solid sense of self-esteem and identity. This bond was an extension of himself that was passed down to his sons, just as his Father, Ivory, had instilled in him. Values of integrity, caring, kindness, a strong work ethic, courage, open-mindedness, creative thinking and excellence.....Brian was the embodiment of the Proud Dad.
Although his former marriage to Carmen Jackson culminated in divorce they regained their friendship and support for each other.
Brian's early education took place within Washington, D.C. and the state of Maryland. He was often placed in accelerated learning environments and was one of approximately eighty students within the United States selected to attend the University of Michigan Summer Institute Program during his senior year of high school. Brian subsequently attended the University of Maryland. He earned degrees from the College of Behavioral and Social Science and the College of Business. While in attendance, he also held the position of President of the Black Student Union. Upon his graduation, Brian attended Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio. Upon completion of his studies, the Juris Doctor of Law was bestowed upon him.
As a teen Brian usually worked during his summer breaks with the Maryland Parks and Recreation Center. As an adult entering the workforce, his employment history began with the United States Patent and Trademark Office in Alexandria, Virginia. He held positions as Trademark Attorney, Interlocutory Attorney, and Supervisory Trademark Attorney. During his tenure with the Patent and Trademark Office, he became an in demand speaker in the area of trademark law.
His skills and knowledge in trademark law captured the attention of Fagre Baker and Daniels in Denver, Colorado. Thus, the family uprooted and made the move to Denver, Colorado. After about six years, Brian took his knowledge and love of trademark law to law firms between Washington, D.C., and Boston, Massachusetts. At the time of his passing, Brian was employed with Edgewell Personal Care as trademark attorney and "Team Leader." Additionally, Brian held the position of Adjunct Professor within the Paralegal Department at Arapahoe Community College.
Outside of his love of the law, Brian was a volunteer reader, every Sunday, for the Society for the Blind. This position began while a Maryland resident. Until his passing, Brian worked as a referee and supervisor for the Castle Rock Recreation Center.
Brian was devoted to fitness. This could be seen through his enthusiasm for swimming and passion for biking. He participated in several Colorado triathlons. His passion for biking and swimming led to his participation in "Aqua Bike" competitions in New Mexico and Arizona.
An important aspect of Brian's life was his endearing yoga family. His enthusiasm for yoga (never missing a class/maybe being late and slipping in the back door to take a seat on the mat at the very front of his class) provided a sense of calm along with essential health benefits and comradery among his fellow yogis.
A man of character, integrity, kindness, intellect, wittiness, wisdom, and love leaves to cherish his memories, his two sons, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, a devoted friend, extended family, friends, and colleagues.
