Bruce Harold Dale, age 57, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024, at his home in Castle Rock, Colorado. He was born on September 19,1966, in North Platte, Nebraska, to Harold Berdean Dale and Rosalee Carol Ann Reitz.
Bruce was raised in Fort Collins, Colorado and graduated from Rocky Mountain High School in 1984. He studied Geography at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.
On September 22, 2014, Bruce married the love of his life, William Abele-Dale, on Polo Beach on the island of Maui. Having the right to be married was important to Bruce and Will because everyone is entitled to dignity and equality, no matter who they are, or whom they love. Love is love. Their wedding day was filled with love and joy.
Bruce worked for Empower for over 36 years. He was proud to be a part of the organization for so many years. Bruce was a dedicated leader and collaborative teammate. He worked tirelessly for his clients and more importantly, for the teams who supported them. In 2018, Bruce was the first recipient of the Plan Sponsor Service Star Award for service excellence.
Bruce enjoyed traveling to Maui, Las Vegas, and Europe. As a child, Bruce vacationed with his family in Yellowstone National Park and it cultivated a love for the National Parks and camping. He liked to be busy and would work on puzzles and Legos. He walked fast and moved constantly. Bruce liked to buy homes that need fixing up just so he had a project to work on. He never bought a set of new tires because he would just buy a new car. Bruce had a quick wit, dry sense of humor, and a big heart.
Bruce is survived by his husband, William Abele-Dale; siblings, Kim Ann Dale-Thompson and Christian Lee (Julie) Dale; grandchildren, Avenlee Diane Mackley and Emmett Wyatt Harrison; nieces and nephews Kelsey Ann Thompson, Marjorie Rose (Justin) Paiyarat, Seth Galen (Alexandria) Dale, several great-nieces, and a great-nephew.
A Celebration of Life Open House will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, 12:00-4:00 pm at Bruce and Will’s home, 3375 Umber Cir., Castle Rock, CO 80109.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Cancer Society.
