Cecil Francis Snyder was born in Adair County, Missouri on July 30, 1941 to Burrell and Pansy Snyder. He attended a one room school house until 8th grade, he often rode his horse, Blaze, to and from school. Cecil worked for McGraw Edison and then Cooley Gravel Co. as a truck driver out of Kirksville, MO.
On August 5, 1960 he married Gracie Rowe and they had three children together. In 1970 they moved to Colorado where Cecil was voted runner-up Mother of the Year in May 1971 as a single father.
On June 23, 1972 he married Donna Miller Person and added five children to his family. Cecil worked for Kings Soopers and later became a pipe fitter with Public Service where he worked for 27 years until his retirement.
Following Donna’s death Cecil found his soul mate and best friend, Bonnie Houghton. They spent many hours on vacations, cruises, square dancing and camping. The happiness they found together was immeasurable and we were all blessed when in their presence.
Cecil was a kind and generous man who instilled a lifestyle of hard work, integrity and respect in all of his children. He exemplified what we, his children, strive to be; strong, courageous, honest and compassionate.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Burrell and Pansy Snyder, a brother, Paul Gene Snyder and his wife Donna Snyder.
He is survived by his best friend, Bonnie Houghton; step-mother, Betty Snyder, a brother, Harley Glen Snyder and all eight of his children; David Person, Denise Jensma (Jay), Deiadra Ziolkowski (Casimir), Peggy Sue Minor (Craig), Donald Person (Robbie), John Snyder (Terri), Denean Maplesden (Syd) and James Snyder, as well as 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by all…
