OBITUARY
Charles "Chuck" L. Ramsey
August 4, 1941 – February 11, 2021
Charles “Chuck” L. Ramsey was born August 4, 1941 in Rifle, Colorado. Chuck went home to be with the Lord on February 11, 2021 after battling many health issues.
At the age of 4, Chuck was placed in an orphanage in Denver where he remained for 2 years, when he was adopted by Woodrow and Helen Ramsey in 1947 at the age of 6. He grew up in Lakewood, Colorado. After graduating from Alameda High School in 1959, he joined the Army and served during the Bay of Pigs invasion of 1961.
In his first career, Chuck worked for JCPenney as a TV technician. When fewer TVs were being repaired the need for a change drew him into the field of education. He got his Bachelor's degree from CSU and his Masters from Phoenix University. He taught electronics at Warren Technical School in Jefferson County, taught driver’s education, and completed his teaching career at Everett Middle School where he retired in 2000.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Pauline Osborne. He is survived by Barbara, his wife of 41 years, his brother Bill, Montrose, and two daughters: Ronda Burgin of Westminster, CO; Brenda (Joe) Arnold of Kiowa, CO; two step-daughters Rhonda (Jeff) Edwards of Three Forks, MT; Robin (Marv) Carmack of Elizabeth, CO and eleven grandchildren: Sydney Burgin, Bianca (Arnold) Morse, Patricia Arnold, Colette Arnold, Mitchell Edwards, Andrea (Edwards) VanHeel, and Aaron, Shawn, Nathan, Lauren, and Ellen Carmack. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Bailey. He will be greatly missed by all.
Chuck was an avid Green Bay Packers fan since 1957. Even though he was a Colorado native, because Colorado had no football team at that time, he has cheered for the Packers through thick and thin. Chuck enjoyed spending time cheering for his grandkids at their sporting events, coaching baseball, volunteering in Civil Air Patrol, driving a church bus, volunteering at the Kiowa Senior Center, going to concerts, and participating in Bible studies. He was a member of the Majestic View Church, VFW, and various professional organizations. He enjoyed being a jokester and making others laugh.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Majestic View Church or the church of your choice, Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes, or Saint Jude's Hospital

Memories and things I learned from my dad:
He taught me how to drive a stick shift car. He said after my lesson they had to replace the clutch.
I got my love for football from my dad. I loved watching football on Sundays and the Orange Bowl on New Years night. Even though he was a true Packers fan I am a true Broncos fan. It made it fun when the Broncos played the Packers especially the Super Bowl when they played each other. The Broncos won!!!! We played football in the front yard with the neighborhood kids.
Dad went on a field trip with me and he had my classmates believing that he was Steve Ramsey a Denver Broncos player in the 70's.
His hair was very important to him and had to always look perfect. No one was allowed to touch his hair. Even when he was sick in the hospital he asked how his hair looked.
He attend South Broadway Christian Church (SBCC) when he was a kid and into his adulthood. I remember members of the church thought there was a ghost in the bell tower. A few of the men climbed up the stairs to the bell tower looking for the ghost. Surprise, surprise they didn't find a ghost.
He taught my Sunday School class at SBCC. He always brought fun into the lessons. I wanted to be a star student so I memorized all of the verses in the Bible in order.
I love my dad and miss him.

I was honored to serve as your financial advisor for 8 years. I will never forget your big heart, and drinking iced tea together talking about your stock market concerns of the day. Rest assured, I will continue to look after the love of your life, Barb, as I promised you I would. Till we meet again my Army friend,

Grandpa Chuck and I shared memorable times together. When I was younger, my sister and I would go over to his house in Lakewood and play air hockey and aggravation with him and my Grandma Barb and run around their back yard and we would have so much fun. When my mom was in the hospital pregnant with my youngest sister, we stayed with Grandpa Chuck and Grandma Barb sometimes and I remember doing homework with Grandpa Chuck and working so hard on my multiplication tables - I like to think I brought him back to his teaching days. When they moved out to Kiowa, my sisters and I would visit and enjoy a few holidays as well as riding on their ATVs, hanging out watching the Green Bay Packers games, and enjoying meals with Grandpa Chuck and Grandma Barb and my family. He will be deeply missed by all who love him. He lived a long and full life and we are so sad to say goodbye. We love you Grandpa Chuck and may you rest easy.

I have such fond memories of Chuck! Being a believer and from the Midwest, we always had a lot to talk about! I am a Chicago Bears fan but I have always secretly loved the Green Bay Packers w/Chuck. The last time I saw Chuck was before covid and I visited him at the rehab center. His pastor was also there and we had wonderful conversation and prayer! My promise was to Chuck that I would go to church with him when he was able to go. Once Chuck came home it was covid time and we could not go. Now I will be going to Chuck's funeral at his church. I know that was not what either one of us intended but what a blessing that Chuck is with our Savior, in his new body and pain free! You will be missed Chuck! Love you Barb and I am here to help if ever you need me!

I loved going to the movies or watching movies with my dad. He loved slapstick comedy. While watching a movie he laughed so hard it would make me laugh even harder. Some of his favorite movies were Airplane, Pink Panther, RV and Herbie the Love Bug.
