Born in Oakland, California, Chris was the oldest of three sons. He attended the University of California - Berkeley, where he received his degree in Engineering. From then on, Chris pursued his childhood passion around railroads, making it into his career. Within the US, that career brought him to Arizona, Iowa, Kansas, Texas, and finally Colorado. Over the decades, he also worked on rail projects around the globe, in countries like Brazil, Jordan, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Since retirement, Chris’ interest in trains manifested in his impressive HO model train set, which he built up in the basement of his Castle Rock home. Now, he rides the rails to the great beyond.
Chris married twice in his lifetime. He was with his second wife, Lina, for nearly 40 years of marriage, until his death. Chris was father to three children and grandfather to one. Chris will be remembered fondly by those who knew him as a quiet, hard working, intelligent man who loved to problem solve and create. He inspired many minds in his field and beyond. He encouraged those he loved to enjoy life and take pride in their achievements, in the same way he took pride in his loved ones and their achievements. Those who survive him will remain on this earth as reflections of a caring, driven, and ever-punctual man.
We love you, Chris. We are grateful for the time we were given with you.
