Dennis Clayton Bachman, born January 11, 1950, passed away May 30, 2022, in his home. Born in Council Bluffs, IA to parents Clayton LeRoy Bachman and Helen Lorena Bachman, he married Judy Meadow on July 19, 2006, in Vail, CO.
A teacher at heart, he always made time to offer guidance and advice to all those who asked for it. He had a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education from Northwest Missouri State University Maryville, MO. Starting his career as a High School English Teacher and Tennis Coach in Mount Zion, Illinois, and Belview, Nebraska, he then transitioned into Retail as Operations Manager for Brandeis Department stores in Omaha, Nebraska, and then May D&F in Denver, Colorado.
Moving into his final career path as Health Club General Manager for Club Sports International/Wellbridge Clubs he journeyed to Dallas, TX, Denver, CO, Harbor Bay, CA, New York City, NY, Honolulu, Hawaii, and then back to Denver. He then moved to San Diego, CA, and then finally back to Denver where he joined Cherry Creek Athletic Club as the General Manager, remaining for many years until he retired.
We all remember Dennis for going above and beyond in supporting his fitness staff. Always wanting the best in life for himself and the ones he loved, he continually reached for excellence and strived to make the clubs he managed the very best for both members and staff.
His journeys across the country and the friends he made inspired the many stories that he told and how very grateful he was for those relationships and experiences. One such relationship was meeting the love of his life, Judy. A loving, caring, and ever-supportive husband to Judy in both her professional and personal life, he never shied away from showering her with love and affection. She was his inspiration for life, and he allowed her to spread her wings and fly.
Dennis had a passion and love for his Old English Sheepdogs, spending hours walking, training, and cuddling them; regularly teasing Judy about how he was the better “doggy” parent. We will always remember him sitting in his rocking chair, talking with his Sheepdog while watching his Koi fish swim in the pond.
Dennis played the saxophone as a kid and had a deep love for music. That knowledge and passion for music were reflected in his Musical Trivia dominance over Judy and his stepdaughters. However, he never mastered playing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” on the musical water glasses.
Dennis is survived by his wife Judy Meadow, his stepdaughters, Heather Meadow, and her fiancé Paul Martin, Ashley Meadow Schultz, her husband Alex, and their children Ezra and Avery, his in-laws, Dr. B.A. and Jane Ann Stewart, brothers/sister-in-law Steve, Greg, and Julia Stewart, and his brother Don Bachman and his wife Denise Jonnet.
Always a true Gentleman, he will be deeply missed.
