I have often wondered what became of one of my favorite baseball buddies and it turns out he was living in my backyard right here in Colorado! I so wish I had looked you up sooner Derek. My prayers to your family♥️

My deepest sympathies go to all those who have loved Derek. He was one of my classmates and friends for all of my school years in the Towanda area. Our brothers were also, at one point, close friends. His easy-going personality and ability to get along with everyone made him a wonderful person. He will be greatly missed.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the entire Vargason family in this time of sorrow and grief. We remember Terry mostly from Grandmother Vargason's annual New Albany reunions. And watched as he grew up, the youngest child in Terry and Nancy's irrepressible and loving family. He was such
a sweet boy, and we have followed all of his successes and accomplishments throughout his adult life. A bright and shining light has gone from this world too soon. May God bless all of his loved ones.

Sending my thoughts and prayers to the family in CO and PA. I pray for peace and solace as you journey through this difficult season.

We were part of the class of '92 since kindergarten at Monroe Franklin. His smile and laugh never changed over the years.

When I first got hired at Philips as a temp, Derek was the only engineer for a long time that assured me that my input was valuable. This quickly turned to a long history of working to solve problems together well after I got hired permanently. Everybody at the company seemed to know him and how friendly he was, and I will truly miss talking and working with him.

Our sincere condolences to all of Derek's family & especially little Parker. Deeply sadened and shocked by the news. He spent lots of time at our house with our son, during their high school years. Glad we had the chance to see him again and meet Julie when they were in Towanda a few years ago. RIP, Derek.

Sending all the love, light and healing thoughts I can muster during this difficult time. Derek was a loving family man who enjoyed an active lifestyle. I had the good fortune of getting to know the Vargason Family which I can only describe as exuding love. Attached is a photo from the Susan Komen Race for the Cure which was a family event for our wellness program. Derek will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

I had the pleasure of working with Derek on several projects at Spectranetics / Philips over the last 5 or so years. I valued his knowledge, point of view and skills on the projects. We also enjoyed talking about hockey, baseball but mostly the Chicago Bears. To hear of his passing is quite a shock for me, I will miss him terribly. To his wife, son and family please know that you all are in my prayers. As I’m no longer in Colorado I won’t be able to attend the funeral but please know that he made a positive impact in my life, on the projects he worked on and the lives he help save through his work.
