It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dominic Brennan Russell, who left us peacefully on the evening of Monday, April 22, 2024, at his home. Born on January 23, 1995, in Englewood, Colorado, Dominic was the cherished youngest son of Darin and Angela Russell.
Dominic grew up in Littleton, attending St. Mary's School through eighth grade before moving on to Mullen High School, where he was a dedicated student and athlete, with a special passion for basketball. His achievements as a student led him to the engineering program at the University of Colorado, where he remained an avid Buffs fan, closely following both the basketball and football programs.
During his summers at CU, Dominic worked for Maxco Innovative Builders, specializing in big timber framing. His strong acumen for math, especially trigonometry, helped him excel and become employee of the year. Dominic graduated proudly with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
After college, Dominic co-founded Biopyure, where his dedication and passion shaped the company. More than a colleague, he was a pillar of strength, a mentor, and a dear friend, especially to his business partners. Dominic’s kindness, generosity, and remarkable ability to uplift those around him made him a beloved figure, both professionally and personally.
Dominic was an avid outdoorsman, a fiercely loyal friend, a brilliant chemist and engineer, and a successful businessman, known for his heart of gold. His legacy is profoundly felt in the lives he touched and the community that is grateful for his contributions.
He is survived by his devoted parents, Darin and Angie; brothers, Dylan and Dalton, and Dalton’s wife Nic; grandmother, Bernadette Vlasin; his cherished Labrador Retrievers, Waylon and Annie; and numerous relatives and friends who will forever hold him dear. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dean and Eleanor Russell, John Vlasin, and his beloved lab, Duncan.
A rosary for Dom will be held on Monday, April 29th from 6:00 to 6:30pm at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel. All are welcome. A visitation will occur after the rosary until 8:00 pm. The funeral service will follow on Tuesday, April 30th at 3:00pm to 4:00 pm at St. Francis of Assisi. All who knew and loved Dominic are welcome to join as we celebrate his remarkable life and enduring legacy.
