George Donovan (Don) Mitchell was born on January 29th, 1947 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was called to heaven on October 7th, 2025 in Castle Rock, Colorado. Don was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Nancy; their children, Cory (Mary) and Jaime (Dain); and five grandchildren and one great grandchild; all cherished.
Don loved airplanes and built an accomplished career in corporate and private aviation maintenance. In retirement, he and Nancy adored one another and were inseparable. Beyond time with his family, he spent countless hours supporting the Angel Gowns program ensuring dozens upon dozens of families grieving the loss of a child received a hand made burial garment.
A memorial service to celebrate Don’s life will be held on October 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Ollinger Anderson Caldwell Gibson Chapel in Castle Rock, Colorado.
