

Donnie Dean Robinson, age 82 of Castle Rock, passed away on May 11, 2024. He was born on January 29, 1942 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Olen and Maxine (Hammack) Robinson. Donnie married Henrietta Catulli and they celebrated 55 years of marriage before his passing.
Donnie was raised in Oklahoma and moved to Pueblo as a teenager and lived there until 2019. He was a 1960 graduate of Centennial High School in Pueblo. Donnie proudly served in the U.S. Marines. He later received his nursing attendant training from Colorado State Hospital; a B.A. in Psychology from Southern Colorado State College, Master’s in Recreational Therapy and a second Master’s in Special Education from Adams State College. Donnie devoted his career to helping patients at the Colorado Mental Institute of Pueblo for over 36 years and two years at the prisons in Florence. Donnie had a passion for all cars from classic cars to hot rods to race cars. He loved spending time outdoors camping and hunting, watching western and war movies – but his greatest time spent was with his family and friends.
Donnie is survived by his wife Henrietta; their children Tony & Lesa Robinson, Greg Robinson, Jennifer & Travis Bruns; grandchildren Natalie, Nicholas, and Ella Bruns; his sister Brenda Kay Byers; sister-in-law Connie Covington; step-sisters Evelyn Battiste Pierce and Paula Rhoadamer; cousins Stan Bratten and Lyn & Thelma Bratten; nieces and nephews Judy, Jay, Mary, Sara, Grant, Lynn, Nathaniel, and Madaline; special friend Nick Nicholas; and all of his 1960 Centennial classmates.
A celebration of Donnie’s life will be at 12:00pm on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Olinger Andrews Caldwell Gibson Chapel in Castle Rock. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in Donnie’s name.
