Born May 2nd 1929 Died March 17th 2018
Born the son of a farmer in Minnesota, he answered a different call as an Elevator Mechanic and Plant Supervisor here in Colorado.
In 1967 he put down roots in the Beverly Hills subdivision, near the city of Castle Pines, and he rode out the many changes in the neighborhood with grace and acceptance.
He raised a family of seven children, 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A gregarious and amiable community member, Erwin was always there with a helping hand when any neighbor needed it. He was a man of simple practicality and a marvelous temperament; when he extended his hand, his heart would follow.
His greatest legacy is seen in the smiling eyes of his great-grandchildren and the kindness he taught his children, who share their lives with the same generous nature in their own communities.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Irene, and a large family fit for a reality TV show.
(Erwin loved his German Shepherds. If you would like to do something in his honor, we could suggest a donation to your local German Shepherd Rescue organization.)
