Fannie Reeves was born on December 4, 1915 in Warren's Bend, Marysville, TX (Cooke County). She graduated from Gainesville High School. She worked for the War Production Board in Washington, D.C. from 1941-1945. She received her B. A. and M. A. from North Texas State in Denton, finishing in 1952. She taught 1 year in Galveston, TX and then settled as of 1948 into Midland, TX. She taught Business at Midland High School for 21 years, and then opened Midland Community College with 3 other colleagues. She retired from there 8 years later. She enjoyed her retirement, volunteering at her church, the Petroleum Museum, and Trinity Towers Assisted Living. She moved to Parker, Colorado to live with family in 2009. After a final year in an assisted living facility, she had a stroke and died 4 weeks later on Nov. 27th. "She had a good life, a long life, a busy life, a happy life."
Fannie is preceded in death by her parents, A. W. Reeves and Birdie Perkins Reeves, as well as her siblings Mollie Belle Reeves, Marvin Clayton Reeves, Clara Reeves, and Winston Ray Reeves. Her sister Lillie Erwin lives in Parker, CO.
