George Earl Powers

George Earl Powers, at 85, passed away in Castle Rock, CO on May 31st, 2025 with his family alongside him. George lived a long full life that included adventures such as horseback riding, flying a prop planes, racing hotrods, and loved the outdoors. Spent a great deal of time camping and fishing with his family and dabbled in photography. Later in life he was an avid cyclist, known to ride for 10+ miles in a day through the Highland Canal and Cherry Creek Dam area.

He is survived by his children Heather, Jennifer, & David, and four grandchildren. He spent the first half of his career life in the family furniture and carpet business. Then had his own handyman business for over 30 years.

George’s greatest achievement is his 28 years of sobriety. He was committed to supporting AA, sponsored individuals and attending meetings weekly. He had a big soft heart and always helped those in need. He was passionate for studying the Bible and had a great love for Jesus.

The family will be doing a private celebration of life ceremony. Although he will be missed very much, we have peace and great joy that he is home with Jesus now.
