2/12/1948 – 12/20/2020
George was born in Las Vegas, NV to Laura E. Thornton and Mick VanDenBroek. He soon became the oldest of eight children. He moved to Los Angeles as a young man to begin his hair stylist career on Rodeo Drive. His artistic talents, together with his nurturing personality made him an extraordinary hair stylist throughout his life. He cared very much for his clients and was endeared by them as a creator, friend and confidant.
He fell in love with Colorado and moved here in the late 1970’s. George had a vision for each waking day and his creativity carried through to all aspects of his life. His passion in life was collecting all kinds of antiques and collectibles. He loved building and driving his vintage Chevrolet automobiles and trucks and he loved renovating his home in the foothills of Colorado into his artistic dream. He grew to love equines and cats, the passion of his wife, Lydia (Terry), and dearly loved his dog Malcolm.
George was reunited in death with his mother, Laura, and his sisters Melissa and Liz. George is survived by his wife, Terry; his brothers Brand, Pete, John and Marc and his sister Susie.
George is greatly missed by everyone whose lives he touched. We will cherish every moment of time we had with him on this earth. Rest in peace my beloved husband and friend.
