Our sincerest condolences to all the members of the Villavicencio families.It is so very hard and sad to lose so many members of our families because of the Covid or other illness.This past year has been so horrific.But,anyway,life goes on and we that are here on Earth shall always keep our loved ones in our hearts and loving memories of them all.I am married to his cousin,Jesus (Ruben) Jacobo.When Ruben & I got married,we would go visit the family at the S.D Mission.We loved visiting Uncle Gus & Aunt Jennie.Ruben used to tell me so many interesting stories about his visits when he was young. I remember the boys when they were little boys,so quiet and very polite.I miss going to the Mission & now we hardly go anywhere,but we do keep in touch with some of the cousins.We will miss Gil at some of the Jacobo Family gatherings.May our Lord keep him in his arms always.Rest in Peace,Cousin.

It was 1976 when I met Gil.  We met thru mutual friends at a party at Ski Beach in San Diego. I was a Junior at Patrick Henry High and Gil was a recent Graduate of Hoover High. We became instant friends upon meeting and found we had much in common; Friends, Faith, and our love of our Hispanic Culture. After 3 years of dating, Gil proposed to me and by 1980, we were married. We married at the San Diego Mission where Gil was also born and raised. With so much ahead, we were excited about raising a family and by 1986 we brought forth a beautiful baby boy, whom we named "Vincent Michael Villavicencio".  (We chose Vincent's name while rafting down the Truckee River near Tahoe. I was 5 months pregnant & I had just completed my training with DOJ in Sacramento. It was one of the busiest times in our life).  On October 20,  1986 Vincent was born. We felt blessed that God had gifted us this Beautiful Child. We were a Family and Vincent filled our lives with lots of Love, Joy & ENERGY!  Gil was such a wonderful and carrying father and he finally had his little mug. You were a great dad Gil!

In 2000, we left San Diego and moved to Elizabeth, Colorado. In 2003, Vincent met a Lovely Girl at school by the name of "Patsy". Well, it seems Vince only had eyes for Patsy. They dated for 10 years and on September 14, 2013 they married and on August 18, 2018, they too had a beautiful baby boy,  whom they named, "Adrian Michael Villavicencio". Our family was blessed with a Daughter (in-law) and now a Grandson. What Joy!

After 23 years of marriage, Gil and I divorced, but remained Eternal Friends! We shared 44 lovely years together; as Husband & Wife, Parents, Grandparents & Eternal Friends. We watched over each other till the end. Upon reflection, we had a Rich & Wonder-Full Life. Thank you Gil for walking alongside me and sharing these past 44 years with me. It has been an Honor! Shock at hearing Gil had  passed is an understatement.  We met in the 80s, when I was working with Cindy.  He was a loving father and proud grandfather.  Watching him coach you, Vince, at your various sports,  you could see the pride he had for you.  I have no doubt  he’ll be rooting for Adrian from above no matter what sport he plays.  
Gil was such a hard worker, to the point that he became the head of his painters union here in SD.  
I’ll always remember his smile and sense of humor.  His gregarious nature made him easy to be around. He had such a kind soul.  I have no doubt he’s still smiling  from heaven above. 
Although they didn’t stay married,  Gil and Cindy stayed friends.  They helped each other in so many ways.  I know that despite what one might think, they had a bond that  up until now, was never broken.   
Heaven gained another angel, one who will look after his family and friends because it’s what Gil did here and will continue to do from heaven.  
Eternal rest grant unto him and may perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. 

 I met Gil shortly after my marriage to Hector Estevane in 2004. Hector and Gil shared a strong bond, and we welcomed Gil to our
home on many occasions.  His death was a blow to both of us. It
seemed impossible this wonderful person left family and many friends so abruptly and so early.  Gil was a gentleman through and through, so stable and calm, so much fun to be near.  He just lit up
at any mention of his grandson, Adrian, whom he just adored. We
who knew Gil will always feel a deep loss.  What a wonderful,
loyal, kind person he was.  He will never be forgotten.

Gil had a very calm and pleasant nature. It was consistently void of ups and downs. He was able to show respect as well as gain the respect of others.  Gil once told me it would be an honor to pattern his life similar to mine.  That compliment reflects the goodness in his heart.
   He was real.  He is now residing in God's House.

I remember meeting Gilbert when he was dating Cindy when we were in high school. I remember being one of Cindy's bridesmaids at their wedding. I loved the way Gil loved and treated my good friend Cindy. He was so kind and sweet to me and Cindy's close friends. My parent knew Gil's parents at San Diego Mission Catholic Church, were they attended mass. I so admired Gil and know with out a doubt that he is in heaven surrounded by angels!

Gil was a true friend with always a welcoming smile and a love for the Lord. I met him through the Christian movement at the Catholic Church I remember his big hug   I also have fond memories of working with Gil on remodel projects. He was a very good Craftman I also walk work with Gil at Home Depot in Parker Colorado. God bless you Gil we miss you

Dearest Vince and Cindy and families.  Henry and I are heartbroken for you!  We were shocked and so deeply saddened to hear of Gill’s passing.  Please know we are here for you, if you need anything we can help with, please reach out.  So saddened by this.  Love to you both and your families.
