When I was in  5th grade with Gunner some friends and I made a racetrack in the gaga ball pit. We raced him around and when he won his smile shined brighter than the sun that day. Sometime after that we went bowling with him and the other SSN kids and it was an incredible time. I will always remember him for his bright smile and positive attitude.

My favorite memory with gunner is a good one. I was a student with gunner and had known him since third grade and it hurt when he left. But my memory with him is when he walked into school dressed super fancy and the office said like oh who is the girlfriend and he mentioned my friend Claudia. It was hilarious and it was him showing his emotions which was awesome.

The GOD of all comfort,will remember every detail about your child and bring him back again mark 6:35,42.

Don,my condolence on the loss of your grandson.

I can't explain the void in my heart. A piece of me is now gone. It was hard to laugh or feel happy without this amazing child in my life. I do not get to help him walk again. I do not get to hear his little laugh or see his big smile. A piece of me was stolen and it is not fair. I could sit and be mad or cry (as I have over and over again) but I know what Gunner would want. Gunner would have wanted me to be happy. He would have wanted me to play funny tricks on my family to make them smile (his favorite person or trick victim was poor Tim.) He would have wanted me to take my kids to the zoo and let his little buddy Nixon know that they will play again, someday. He would also let him know that he is in a wonderful place now where there are no surgeries or painful PT stretches. The place he is in is amazing, with his msweet Grandma to play with him. He would also let me know that he is able to run where he is at. He doesn't need a walker or wheelchair and he is fast, really fast. 
Gunner-
Even though your time on earth was short, you made an impact. You taught so many people how to smile and be happy, even when life was hard (and life was hard for you sometimes) You taught us how to just enjoy each other's company and sit and watch paw patrol holding hands on the couch. I love and miss you sweet boy. Fly with the angels and watch over us all. I will see you again.

Thank you for this opportunity for the Rexes to cry a little and thank God that Gunners life was so uniquely valuable to our souls and belief in God. He reflected Love, courage and joy. So many stories of courage, hope and love we were honored to hear from Jerry and Linda since the very day Gunner was born. Randy, you remind us of God the Father as you loved Gunner and your girls so much.

Every time I saw Gunner, he was always happy, always had a smile on his face. So sorry for your loss.

Oh sweet boy. I am going to miss that bright smile of yours- it illuminated the hallways at CSE better than any light fixture ever could. I'll never forget the day you were all dressed up. I asked you why you were so spiffy and you said "for my girlfriend" and just beamed. 

Thank you for touching the hearts of so many in such a brief time. Your classmates all have fond memories of you- Paw Patrol being one of the most talked about. They loved and cared about you and were fortunate to have you as a part of their class.
