I just found this today. Heather was my cousin, my first cousin, and we survived a lot together, albeit most of it long distance. But every time I spoke with her, she had the special gift of making you feel that whatever you were trying to accomplish it--and not only were you going to accomplish it, but no one in the world could accomplish it quite like you could. She'd sound so happy just to hear the sound of your voice or to read your short message or email. To call her a ray of sunshine would make sunshine seem less powerful than it is, but that's the closest I can come to the warmth that radiated from her. I miss our little chats, I miss our laughs, and I miss her. Heather, I know you can see me--and I'll do my best to entertain you till I can get up there with you. Love, Scarlett

My niece, Heather walked into the arms of Jesus on 3/4/13. So, yesterday I attended her memorial service. The hundreds of people (yes, there were about 300 by my estimate) that attended listened to close friends and family describe how loved she was and how she shared her love and caring for everyone she met. I was honored to hear the personal stories of her life and just how many people she touched (which I was blessed to be one) in her short time on earth. She leaves behind her Dad Dennis and Mom Shari as well as her husband, Jason, and her precious 7 year old son Jacob. She is gone from our physical lives now. But, she WILL live on in our hearts and minds until we catch up with her in our Saviors loving arms.

I was so very sorry to hear about Heather.  I remember her as a strong, brave, gracious, wonderful woman.  I hope Jacob knows how much Heather loves him and that a special part of her will always be with him.  My heart felt thoughts and prayers to Heather, her family and friends.

From the time Heather entered our lives, she was a beloved grandaughter.  We loved her beautiful spirit, her smile, her humor, her beautiful artistic pictures, her love and concern for her family and friends, and her amazing self-giving love for her precious son, Jacob. We are her Gram and Grampa, and we will miss her. But we take comfort in the thought that we will see her again in Heaven someday.

I have attempted to write a message on here about Heather several times, but stopped because I didn't feel like I could express how much she meant to me in only a few sentences. We are all fortunate if we have people in our lives who make us want to be a better person. Heather is a life long friend who did that for me. Her positivity, even during tough times, her bright smile and as her pastor said at her service, her ability to individualize people, as she spoke with them, are just a few things I will miss. Now, it's time to pull together and look out for her miracle kiddo, Jake. I wish peace and comfort to everyone who is missing Heather so much! She was a gem for sure. Farewell for now, Heather. I love you!

Oh my friend I love you so much!! Longing to just have one more hug and kiss!  I will enjoy seeing your smile continue through your Wee Mighty Man. Rest in His Arms my dear friend. I had the privilege of meeting Heather a few years ago at Camp Sunshine. I knew from the moment I met her she was a beautiful soul. She will be deeply missed by many and I'm sure she will shine down on all those she has touched. My thoughts and prayers  go out to Jason and sweet little Jacob. May you rest in peace my friend.

Heather and my daughter were the best of friends during high school, college and thereafter.  As a parent one always wants their children to have happy, uplifting friends exhibiting highest character and a zest for life . Heather, there are no words to say how much you will be missed. The angels in heaven rejoiced with you as they ushered you into Heaven. Even Heaven is a brighter place with you in it. But here on Earth, there will always be an empty spot in our family until we are all reunited again.

Jason, Jacob and family: We are sad with you as you remember the beautiful memories with Heather.  We will surround Mr. Jacob and love him ever so much more.

As we sit in our home in St. Louis, we remember all the wonderful days, and fun filled nights with all of our friends back in the days of living in Boulder, and then Denver.  Heather is in so many memories for me that she will never truly be gone.  she lives on for me in those days on Lake Powell and ski trips galore,  ever surrounded by her pups, and quick with a smile and a hug.  I grieve for the family and wish them the deepest condolences, for the loss must feel so eminence, which it is but I pray they find peace in the days to come and can remember as we do the wonderful impact she made on everyone she interacted with.
