Herman John Bruxvoort passed peacefully into the arms of his loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 25, 2021. He leaves behind a legacy of strong faithfulness and love to his Lord, family and friends.
Herm was born on May 24, 1931 to Brandt and Sophia (Fryling) Bruxvoort in Buenos Aires, Argentina where his father was a missionary to a Dutch settlement. Herm only spoke Spanish until he was about 4-1/2 years old. Herm, his twin brother Brandt, brother Ralph, and sister Dora were all born while they lived in Argentina. They returned to the United States in 1936 by boat and settled in Grand Rapids, Michigan where his sister Joanna and brother Marvin were born. The family then moved to Denver, Colorado where he attended Denver Christian Schools. It was in Denver that Herm met his sweetheart Rosalyn. They were married on July 16,1954. Herm received his Bachelor's degree in Engineering. In 1969 the family moved from Denver to Greeley before moving to San Jose, California in 1971 for his work. While in California he and Rosalyn kept busy by raising their family of 4 children, as well as, by being heavily involved at their church (Los Gatos Christian Church). He and Rosalyn moved back “home” to Colorado in 1994 where he first built 2 homes from the ground up in Fort Collins, before settling in Castle Rock. While in Castle Rock he worked as a school bus driver for a few years before going back into the field of engineering and finally retiring at the young age of 81. Herm was known throughout his life, and until the very end, for being a kind, steady, faithful, God-fearing man.
Herm is preceded in death by his wife Rosalyn, son Bruce, and Brothers' Marvin and Brandt. He survived by four children, Barry (Barbara), Dan (Solange), Bryan and Shawna (Gary); ten grandchildren, Joshua (Brooke), Kristofer, Hannah Rose, Samuel, Megan, Shawn, Cherise (Matt), Steven (Chelsea), James and Nicholas; and five great grandchildren; Kaileen, Alina, Kelan, Brayden and Renley, as well as his brother Ralph, and sisters Dora and Joanna.
He will be dearly missed as a father, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend.
