Jacob Michael Kresl

From an early age, Jacob moved through the world with energy and drive. In high school, he ran track and was an avid skateboarder—pursuits that reflected both his determination and his appetite for momentum, challenge, and new horizons.

Jacob built a career as an industrial mechanic specializing in robotic maintenance. He was notably successful and took genuine pride in his work, approaching it with steady discipline and a strong work ethic that earned admiration. His commitment was evident not only in what he did, but in the care and seriousness with which he did it.

Those closest to Jacob knew the depth of his devotion to family, especially to his brothers. The bond he shared with his brothers was everything—an exceptionally close-knit relationship marked by loyalty, presence, and a love that did not need to be announced to be felt.

Jacob’s sense of adventure carried him across the world. He loved traveling and took two major trips to Asia and Europe, embracing the richness of new places and experiences. He loved the outdoors, being in nature, meeting life with curiosity and courage. Alongside that adventurous spirit was a generous heart—Jacob loved deeply, and those he cherished knew it.

Jacob also brought levity wherever he went. He was hilarious and genuinely enjoyed making others laugh, offering humor not as performance, but as a gift—an easy, human way of helping people feel lighter in his presence.

In Jacksonville, Jacob attended St. Mark's Episcopal Church, a place that reflected the importance of faith and community in his life.

Jacob is survived by his father, Kenny Kresl; his mother, Bonnie McCormick (Shawn); his brothers, Thomas Kresl, Benjamin McCormick, and Daniel McCormick; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
