James Dwain Decker

Jim is survived by his parents Dan and Sonja Decker of Sedalia, his sisters Jaylene Hoagland of Littleton, Darlene Chastain of Littleton, Raylene Maccalous of Castle Rock, his brothers Dan Decker Jr. of Castle Rock and Ron Decker of Castle Rock and his sons Ryan Fila of Sedalia and Anthony Fila of Sedalia.

Jim Decker was born on July 30th, 1968 in Denver Colorado to Dan and Sonja Decker. Jim attended Castle Rock Junior High, then moved to Arkansas with his family for one year and then moved back to Colorado where he attended high school in Littleton. Jim never finished high school but chose to start working at the age of 17. Jim worked different odd jobs for a couple of years and then started Decker Brothers Machining with his Dad and 2 brothers in 1989. Jim met and started dating Kathy Fila in 1994. The couple welcomed their 2 sons Ryan and Anthony soon after, both of whom remember Jim as a Dad with a huge heart and a passion for the outdoors.

Jim was an accomplished machinist and a talented drummer. Jim often played music with his family and in a country band for years with his brother Dan and cousin Doug Decker. Jim loved the outdoors and four wheeling in his truck. Jim loved fishing and camping and would often take his dog, Balto, down to the creek in Sedalia to hang out.

Jim found his faith in God in the later years of his life and was baptized at The Rock Church in Castle Rock, Colorado on Mother’s Day, May 8th, 2016.

The funeral is scheduled for June 29th, 2016 2:00 pm, at Plum Creek Church in Castle Rock, Colorado with a reception to follow at Dan and Kollette Decker’s home at 347 Crosshaven Place, Castle Rock, CO 80104. Pastor Doug Miller will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Jim Decker.
