James served 20 years in the US Army. He entered into service on November 9, 1949 in Fort Riley, Kansas. He served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War as well as various other assignments in the United States including Hawaii. He received numerous awards for his service including the award of the Bronze Star Medal for his service in the Vietnam War.
After the military James enjoyed the quiet life with his love, Mary Alice in Castle Rock, Colorado. In 2015 they moved to Agoura Hills, California to live in an assisted living facility due to Mary Alice’s failing health and to be near their daughter.
A graveside service for James will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 880 E. Wolfensberger Rd., Castle Rock CO 80109.
