James Robert Pardee (known as Jim or Jimmy), knew that the best things in life are the people we love, the places we've been, and the memories we've made along the way. Jimmy had the best of all of these.
Jim is survived by his two sisters, Kathleen (Carl) Wade and Karen (Lou) Kasperek. He was preceded in death by his parents James Pardee, Helen Eberhardt-Pardee, and wife Carla Dickinson Pardee.
He graduated from North High School in 1976 and joined the Navy in 1977. Jimmy was discharged with medical disabilities in 1985, which he lived with the rest of his life. He retired from Lockhead Martin and received several accommodations and awards for his hard work and expertise.
If you knew Jim, you know that he was always a people person who enjoyed cooking, great food, good wine, and good company. He loved the Broncos and was a season ticket holder for years. He enjoyed tailgating, people watching, and sitting with his sister, Karen, and brother-in-law, Lou, even while freezing in the snow in the old stadium.
He loved scuba diving and often took diving trips with friends and family. He was fun to travel with and enjoyed arguing about how to correctly pronounce the names of the islands.
Jimmy married the love of his life, Carla Dickinson Pardee, July 1, 2001. He was happily married until her death April 2014. Jim became a part of Carla's family, and was just like a brother to Carla's brother, Morgan (Carol) Dickinson. Carla and Jim traveled the world and loved to share stories and pictures of their experiences to friends and family. Jim is dearly loved by his nephews, Brian (Natalie) Wade, Eric (Jennifer) Wade, and Jeremy Wade.
For many years the family would meet at his house in Sedalia on New Year's Eve. Presents were exchanged, and the evening ended with a huge lasagna, cooked by Jim, that was so big, it never finished cooking until the late evening. Everyone slept on sleeping bags all over the floor and woke up to fresh cinnamon rolls and Irish coffee. Ah! The memories of a brother, two sisters, and family!
Jim left his loved ones with memories they will forever treasure and he will be truly missed.
