Jim was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on July 27, 1938, to Dell Styers and Dorothy (Benson) Styers. His family moved to Colorado in 1945, and he later graduated from Regis University, setting the foundation for a life dedicated to service, business, and family.
He found the love of his life, Connie (Ridgway) Styers, and they were married on December 21, 1961. Their beautiful journey together spanned many decades, during which they were blessed with four children.
Following his education, James proudly served as an officer in the United States Naval Reserve for over 20 years. His commitment to service was matched only by his keen entrepreneurial spirit. A true businessman, he built a dynamic career across several ventures, becoming a respected figure in the fields of printing, medical sales, and real estate. He was always seeking new opportunities and challenges, making his mark as a dedicated and resourceful leader.
A man of deep faith, Jim was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His true passion lay in the Western tradition; he was a passionate cowboy who loved working with horses and cattle ranching. James will be remembered by all who knew him for his unwavering integrity, infectious sense of humor, and kind spirit.
A Rosary and Mass will be held on Thursday, December 4th, beginning at 9:30 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Castle Rock, Colorado, with a luncheon reception to follow at 11:00 AM.
The burial will take place the following day, Friday, December 5th, at 10:30 AM at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Denver Rescue Mission, an organization Jim long supported.
