John Allen (Jack) Fatchett was born at home, in DeWitt, on July 17, 1935 to Clarence John (Buck) and Emma DePaepe Fatchett. He passed away at home in Parker, CO on June 13, 2021 from metastasized prostate cancer at age 85. He was preceded in death by his parents Buck and Emma and brothers James and Joe Fatchett.
He graduated from DeWitt Public Schools and California State University Long Beach after having served as Intelligence Chief in the U.S. Marine Corps in Korea with the famous 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines.
His life was filled with financial institutions and real estate which led to numerous federal appointments and elections such as the Accountability Committee of the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, Vice Chair of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka and numerous CEO and ownership positions with savings and loan associations. His second and third careers involved the purchase of over 6,000 apartments for an Ohio investor and the subdivision of a 300 acre residential parcel for an Ohio bank and the locating of apartment land for a San Francisco builder.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Geneva (Nina), three children, Joan M. Fatchett of Wichita, KS, Mike Fatchett of Castle Rock, CO, Michelle Emery of Englewood, CO and his sister Janis Black, of Eldridge, IA. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, John & Brenden Fatchett, Leyla Fatchett Bajramovic and Zane & Tristan Emery.
A graveside service is being planned for October 28, 2021 at Elmwood Cemetery with luncheon following the graveside service at 12 at Buzzy’s.
