John Glenn Miles passed away November 3, 2021 at his home in Franktown, Colorado. A private memorial service was held.
John was born to Joel E. and Harriett (Hargreaves) Miles on May 23, 1930 in Norfolk, Nebraska. When he was a young boy, his family moved to Denver, Colorado where he grew up and was educated. John received his Bachelors and Masters degrees and spent his entire career teaching in the Denver Public School District.
Besides teaching History, John coached tennis for many years and received the honor of being named to the Colorado Coaches Hall of Fame and the National Coaches Hall of Fame. He also served as the director of the Colorado Coaches Association for a few years.
John is survived by his son, Mark Miles, his brothers Joel W. Miles and Steven G. Miles, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his very special caregiver for the past 10 years, Staci Peterson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, Jean and Elizabeth, a son, John E. Miles, a sister, Emogene (Allen) Pearson and a nephew, George Pearson.
