Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant Karel. Karel Ann (Day) Cox was born to Walter and Irene Day in St. Louis, Missouri on April 29th, 1949. She grew up in Salem, Missouri and graduated from Salem Senior High School. She went on to attend Missouri Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Columbia, Missouri and received her degree as a registered nurse. In the beginning of her career, she worked as a nurse in the intensive care unit which she was very proud of. She was united in holy marriage to Charles F. Cox on October 12th, 1973 and they shared 38 years of life together. God blessed them with one daughter, Jennifer (Cox) Raulie. Karel and her husband Charles went on to become successful business owners of a window and floor covering business. Karel was very involved in her church and in her community. She was a talented pianist and played in many churches over the years. She was very passionate about Christ and giving to others. Her hobbies included interior decorating as well as fashion. Recently, Karel organized a holiday fashion show for her senior community. She also volunteered regularly for her local senior center. On September 16th, 2015 God called Karel home to heaven. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Raulie, her granddaughters Addisyn and Emersen Raulie, her brother Stephen Day, and her former spouse Charles Cox. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our sister Karel.
Karel’s service will be held on October 3rd, 2015 at 10AM at the Ephinany Lutheran Church in Castle Rock, Colorado.
