Karen Lee Wayland

Karen Lee Wayland, age 62 of Castle Rock, passed away on December 6, 2023 with her family at her side. She was born on November 21, 1961 in San Diego, California, the daughter of Gustave Floyd Meeks and Doris Louella (Williams) Meeks. Karen married Jeffrey Wayland and they recently celebrated 30 years of marriage together.

Karen was a devoted mother and was proud to raise her four children – of whom are quadruplets. Karen’s positivity and uplifting spirit will continue to influence all who knew her. She never met a stranger that she wasn’t friends with and was always willing to put others before herself. In her spare time, Karen enjoyed 80’s music and style, crime shows and true documentaries, collecting Cherished Teddies, and loving on her cat Mooie, and dog Sophie. Karen’s sharp wit, sense of humor, and warm smile will be dearly missed.

Karen leaves behind her cherished family, including her husband, Jeff Wayland; their children Alyssa Wayland, Courtney Wayland, Andrew Wayland, and Rachel Wayland; as well as a large, extended family and numerous friends.

Karen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Castle Rock. Her Church home and family will host her visitation on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 11:00am until the time of her funeral service at 12:00 Noon.
