Kayda was born in Denver to Robert & Ella Jump on April 19, 1951. She was the middle child of three, with an older and younger brother. Kayda grew up a tomboy in Wheat Ridge, CO where she enjoyed swimming, skiing, bike riding & motorcycles; always able to hold her own with her brothers. She graduated from Wheat Ridge High School in 1969.
Kayda and her husband Bob were married in 1974. Her heart and devotion were always centered on her faith, her home, and her family. She was a wonderful wife, soulmate, best friend, listener, trusted advisor, and of course, mother & grandmother. Through good times and bad, she was always the glue that held the family together. Kayda’s greatest joy came from the simplest things; sharing in the happiness & laughter, and comforting in the sorrow of those she loved most, her family.
Kayda had a natural gift for making friends wherever she went, people were drawn to her loving, caring spirit. She genuinely loved hearing their stories and learning about their lives. Even through the years of continuous cancer treatments, she was determined to not be defined by her illness. Kayda volunteered and served others selflessly at her church home, Plum Creek Church in Castle Rock. She will be deeply missed by her many friends there.
One of Kayda’s passions was painting, she began simply enough by taking a class in 1998, and discovered a God-given talent! She continued in that same class, every week until her passing, and over the years created hundreds of beautiful works, coveted by her friends and family alike.
Kayda’s family is joyful and thankful that she is home with the Lord, free of pain and cancer, her health restored, rejoicing with Jesus. Our sorrow is not for her, but for our loss. She will forever be in the hearts of her husband Bob, sons Matt & Jake, daughter Shannon, stepdaughter Jenn, grandsons Zach, Dillon, Caleb, Gabe & Braxton, granddaughters Maddie & Ella Rose.
We invite you to join us in a Celebration of Kayda’s Life on Friday April 23rd 2021 at 1pm at Plum Creek Church in Castle Rock. (casual attire is great – Kayda hated having to get dressed up)
