Keith Dwane Bramer, age 79, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family.
A Life of Service and Devotion
Born in Atlantic, Iowa, to Betty Lou Watson, Keith grew up in the local community and graduated from Atlantic High School (Iowa). It was there that he cultivated lifelong friendships
and a soul-deep passion for sports—most notably baseball, a love that would define much of his life.
In 1966, Keith entered two of the most significant chapters of his journey:
● A Milestone Marriage: On February 5, 1966, he married his soulmate, Diana Lee Fickel. Their union was the foundation of a life built on unwavering devotion, and in early
2026, they reached the beautiful milestone of celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.
● Military Service: Shortly after their wedding, Keith joined the United States Air Force. Serving as an air traffic controller tracking satellites, his service took him from Iowa to Turkey. He carried the pride of his military tenure with him throughout his life.
Career and Retirement
Following his honorable discharge, Keith transitioned to a career with "Ma Bell," serving as a Central Office Technician for Mountain Bell in Littleton. Known for his discipline and the camaraderie he shared with colleagues, Keith dedicated 30 years to the company before retiring at the age of 50 in 2001.
Passions and Legacy
Keith was a man of quiet strength and simple pleasures. While he enjoyed the thrill of football, baseball was his true calling. He wasn't just a spectator; he was a mentor and a coach who found immense joy in teaching the next generation the nuances of the game.
When he wasn't on the field, Keith could often be found:
● Fishing: Cherishing the stillness of the water and the company of friends and family.
● Coaching: Encouraging young athletes with patience, skill, and heart.
● Family Time: Attending every game and milestone for his children and grandchildren,
sharing stories, and simply being together.
Family
Keith’s legacy of kindness and loyalty lives on through those he held most dear:
● Wife: Diana Bramer.
● Children: Son, Todd Dwane Bramer (Karen); Daughter, Dena Lee Hartman (Rhett).
● Grandchildren: Mason, Alec, Breauna, Avery, and Ella.
● Siblings: Sisters Kathy Bowers (Jim) and Sheri Bramer; Step-sisters Barbara Helland
(Mike) and Becky Burgart (Jim); Sister-n-law, Kathy Moore and Brother-n-law Lawrence
Moore.
● Extended Family: Numerous cousins from the Watson and Wissler families, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Keith will be remembered as a steady presence—a man whose life was a testament to the power of family, the joy of a game well played, and the peace of a day on the water.
A celebration of Keith’s life will be held at a later date.
