

Lyle proudly served his country with combined Air Force and Navy Service of 20 years and 8 years in the Navy Reserves, dedicating his life to service, integrity, and honor. His time in the Navy reflected his strong sense of duty and deep love for his country.
Lyle grew up in the Tetonia Valley in Idaho with his 3 brothers and 2 step sisters. His love for the beautiful outdoors and adventure was a true passion. Lyle joined the military young, which led to him traveling to places all over the world. He would meet the love of his life, Joan Smoody while they both served in the Navy in California. Lyle and Joan were stationed in southern California, where Lynne would be born in San Diego and stationed near Kodiak, Alaska where Caryn and Jayne were born. After Lyle retired from the Navy, he became a civil engineer and would help build water dams throughout the USA and also overseas., which opened the door for Lyle and Joan to enjoy Jordan and Egypt. They would also spend time traveling in their VW camper van all throughout Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan Daniels (née Smoody). Together, they shared a lifetime of love, faith, and devotion, building a strong family foundation filled with laughter and lasting memories.
Lyle is survived by his three daughters — Lynne Justice, Caryn Kabis (Michael), and Jayne Friesen (David) — and his cherished grandchildren: Nicholas, Jacob, Joshua, Julia, and Caroline. He was also blessed with four precious great- grandchildren: Dances, Payson, Aleiyah, and Avery. Lyle’s legacy of love, strength, and faith will continue to live on through all of them.
Family and friends are encouraged to dress in red, white and blue- in honor of Lyle's love for his country and his proud service in the U.S. Navy.
A celebration of Lyle’s life will be held at New Beginning Community Church, 10550 South Progress Way, Parker, Co 80134 on November 8th, 2025, at 11:30. A light lunch will be provided following the service.
