Margaret Mary Schuman

Margaret was the youngest of six children born to Charles and Florence (Broz) Jeffers on July 11, 1953, and spent her childhood on a farm near Hayes Center, NE. She graduated from Hayes County High School in 1971 and attended McCook Junior College. She then worked for Ken McGooden Insurance Agency in McCook.

She was married to Neil Schuman on February 3, 1973, in Hayes Center, NE, and they moved to Denver, CO, to live. To this marriage were born three children: Tracy, Brooke, and Max. They later moved to Castle Rock, CO, where Margaret was employed with the owner of Tower Electric for 23 years.

Margaret was a devout and faithful Christian. She loved her husband of almost 42 years deeply, and was a loving, supportive and fun mother. Her grandchildren were a great joy to her and one of her favorite topics. Her favorite pastime was to be with her family, and she cherished all time spent with them.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Charles and Florence Jeffers, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert and Mary Schuman.

Survivors include her husband Neil Schuman of Castle Rock CO; daughters, Tracy Schuman (fiancé Nick Zeller) of Castle Rock, CO, and Brooke (Tim) Mills of Davis, CA, and son Max (Kirsten) Schuman of Littleton, CO; grandchildren Makenzie Schuman of Castle Rock, CO, and River Mills of Davis, CA; sisters Janet (Jerry) Rucker of Arvada, CO, Rita (Don) Steinke of Windsor, CO, Kathy Knepp of Auburn, NE, and Patty (Scott) Laird of Hayes Center, NE, and brother Larry (Lynn) Jeffers of Hayes Center, NE; sisters-in-law Carol Schuman of Imperial, NE, Shirley Schuman of Crookston, NE, and Dolores Schuman of Greeley, CO; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends and relatives.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. MT. at Castle Rock Church of Christ. Viewing will be on Tuesday January 27, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Olinger Andrews funeral Home. Burial will be in Fort Logan Cemetery in Denver, CO.
