On Sunday, January 3rd, 2016 at 2:22PM Mariann Rose Cerullo died peacefully at home surrounded by family. She was born in Queens, New York on September 16th, 1941 to Christopher Kissel and Rose Licata. She is preceded in death by her father, Christopher Kissel; mother, Rose Licata; husband, Joseph Bernard Cerullo, Sr.; and maternal and paternal grandparents. Her legacy includes her four children: Ann Marie Purcell, Theresa Schall & her husband Justin, Michael Cerullo, Sr. & his wife Edlira and Joseph Cerullo, Jr. & his wife, Ronail; her grandchildren: Geoffrey Dean, Brittany Ouzts, Megan Robins, Katelyn Cerullo, Nicholas Schall, Michael Cerullo, Jr., Megan Dean, David Ouzts, Carly Schall, Ashton Smith, Brandon Lane, Jonail Cerullo, Carver Cerullo, and Eliana Cerullo; and her great grandchild; Brielle Dean. There was nothing she loved more than getting her large, loud family together under one roof for a traditional Italian dinner. When she wasn’t cooking or entertaining, she found happiness in playing keno and penny slots, watching sci-fi & horror movies, fishing and knitting, all the while enjoying some of her favorite snacks (coffee, double stuffed Oreos, donuts and Pringles). As a true New Yorker, her strong sense of humor and clever wit always kept those around her on their toes. She cherished her relationship with her husband until the day she died, holding their wedding bands in her hand as she took her last breath. A private grave site memorial ceremony will be held Wednesday, January 6th, 2016 at 1:00PM at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 880 E. Wolfensberger Road, Castle Rock. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on her behalf.
