Mary Josephine Hollman, 86, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2019 at Denver Hospice in Colorado. Mary was born December 21, 1932 in New York City to John C. Hollman and Helen Marie Gee. Mary was the fourth of five children.
Mary was preceded in death by her father John, mother Helen, sister Helen, brother John and brother-in-law John. She is survived by her sister Dorothy, sister Joan (John), sister-in-law Phyllis, and several nieces and nephews.
Mary attended Julia Richmond High School in New York City and later moved to Rock Creek, Ohio with her husband where they owned a farm. Mary's nieces and nephews have fond memories of the summers spent on the farm, although they had to clean out the barn while they visited, they got to drive the tractor and enjoy fresh home cooked meals made by Mary.
Mary's hobbies included bowling, gardening, dancing, needlework and volunteering at the American Legion Auxiliary. Mary worked at Capricia Creations in Newbury, Ohio which was a company that specialized in imbedding dried flowers and mementos in plastic.
After her divorce Mary moved to Aurora, Colorado to be closer to her sisters Dorothy and Joan and their families. She was employed by the Department of the Air Force at the Mile High Lodge on the Lowry Air Force base in Denver. In 1986 the Mile High Lodge was one of the Largest hotels in the United States Air Force.
Mary will be very much missed by her family, but they know she is back with her parents in Heaven.
